Decorating With Design Duos

Teamwork truly makes a design dream work. These dynamic design duos combined their skills and created beautiful pieces, from sofas to non-traditional lighting.

Loafer Lounge Chair

Designed by design duo Space Copenhagen (Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou), this chair is a timeless, addition to any interior. The classic velvet texture meets a sleek, comfortable chair design. The pair graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, and took part in many influential interior design projects, such as the Noma restaurant in Copenhagen. Coinciding with their Scandinavian roots, Space Copenhagen always produces modern, expertly crafted pieces.

TS Table

Married pair GamFratesi combines the influences of Danish architect, Stine Gam, and Italian architect, Enrico Fratesi for a neo-European medley. Most pieces from them are sleek and contemporary, like the TS Table. The thin metal frame combined with the natural marble table top make for a modern, minimalist look.

Nilson Sofa

This Barcelona-based duo largely focuses on harmony and balance. Specializing in multiple disciplines, Lievore Altherr combine several practices across their designs for integrated products. Their Nilson sofa was designed with comfort in mind, offering much support while still looking light.

Bolle Wall

Christiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes are an Italian-British couple who are known for their non-traditional approaches to their collections, which is much of the reason why they succeed in designing lighting. They aim to bring the supernatural, dreamy quality of light to contemporary pieces. The light aspect of Bolle almost bounces off the wall with suspended brass bulbs.

Emily Chair

Farg & Blanche, founded in 2010, is made up of cabinet-maker Fredrik Farg and artist Emma Blanche. The duo is known for its innovative products with fun aspects, and the Emily chari reflects just that. The stitching is intricate and crafted with detail, contrasting against the natural wood finish on the bottom of the chair.
